Overview Canada Free Work VISA

On November 7th, 2022, the government of New Brunswick and the federal government introduced the New Brunswick Critical Worker Pilot Project (NBCWP). This program has a unique focus as it aims not only to provide economic immigration to New Brunswick but also to help retain newcomers by offering settlement services for immigrants.

A pilot project will collaborate with six chosen employers to fill labor gaps in various industries such as manufacturing, fisheries, food production, forestry, farming, and others. The program will be regularly monitored and reviewed every five years to ensure it is achieving the desired results.

New Brunswick is committed to attracting economically benefiting from and retaining newcomers as evidenced by its rank of 8th in population among Canadian provinces and 11th in terms of GDP per capita.

Settlement Services Canada Free Work VISA

The New Brunswick Critical Worker Pilot Project (NBCWP) is unique in that it doesn’t just focus on bringing economic immigrants to the province but also on helping them settle and build a life there. It is a refreshing approach.

As part of this vision, the six businesses participating in the program have to ensure that they provide robust settlement plans for housing and transportation which will help new immigrants settle into their new jobs and communities with ease. The program also requires the businesses to have comprehensive human resources planning to recruit and hire skilled international talent as well as to provide on-the-job skills enhancement.

More businesses have to offer language training to the candidates for up to 200 hours as required. And, if a candidate wishes to pursue their Canadian secondary education equivalency, they will also receive guidance and support from the businesses.

This approach is truly commendable as it shows a genuine commitment to the long-term retention of skilled workers and their successful integration into the community.

Free Visa Partner Employers

The program has chosen six employers who have been selected based on their outstanding performance in the New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program (NBPNP), their track record of hiring immigrants and maintaining good hiring practices, and their ability to provide settlement services to new economic immigrants.

These six employers are:

Cooke Aquaculture Inc.;
Groupe Savoie Inc.;
Groupe Westco;
Imperial Manufacturing;
J.D. Irving Ltd.; and
McCain Foods.
