PM Youth Internship Program in China 2024

During his visit to China in June 2024, the Prime Minister of Pakistan explored ways to enhance cooperation between Pakistan and China in agricultural research, education, and trade. He proposed sending 1,000 agricultural professionals to China to enhance their skills, promote innovation, increase productivity, and support sustainable growth in Pakistan’s agriculture sector.

In response to this initiative, the Ministry of National Food Security and Research (MNFSR) is inviting applications from young agricultural professionals working in the public and private sectors to participate in the training program, which will be implemented in phases.

Program Overview:

  • Training Duration: 3-6 months
  • Application Deadline: To be announced on the official website
  • Program Benefits: Fully funded by the Government of Pakistan

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Professionals from Public and Private Sectors: Must be working in agriculture-related fields.
  • Education: Minimum of a Master’s degree or a 4-year BS degree in one of the nine priority areas.
  • Age Limit: 25 to 45 years as of the application closing date.
  • Experience: At least two years of relevant work experience in the priority areas.
  • Skills: Proficiency in English and the use of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Passport: Valid for at least one year from the application closing date.

Priority Training Areas:

  1. Farm Mechanization: Training in advanced mechanization techniques to improve farm efficiency.
  2. Crop Speed Breeding: Techniques for enhancing productivity in cotton, hybrid rice, vegetables, and pulses.
  3. High-Level Technologies: Use of drones, the Internet of Things (IoT), and Artificial Intelligence (AI) for precision agriculture.
  4. Seed Production and Processing: High-yield and resilient seed technologies.
  5. Livestock Disease Surveillance: Monitoring and controlling livestock diseases.
  6. Livestock Breeding and Genomics: Techniques for genetic improvement in livestock.
  7. Aquaculture: Focused on shrimp farming and processing.
  8. High Irrigation Water Systems: Training in advanced irrigation methods for efficient water use.
  9. Fruits & Vegetables Processing: Techniques to extend the shelf life and add value to fruit and vegetable products.

General Instructions:

  • The training program is fully funded by the Government of Pakistan.
  • Detailed orientation sessions and reporting requirements will be provided by the federal government.
  • Selected candidates must sign a bond to return to Pakistan after completing the training.
  • Nominations without a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the department will not be considered.
  • Encouragement for Women: Female professionals are encouraged to apply.
  • Family Restrictions: Trainees are not allowed to bring family members.
  • Those who have already submitted their applications do not need to apply again.
